Satan-vs-Jesus

You Prayers are where you unify with the Lord and Battle Satan one on one!

We all want to live Powerful and Effective Lives. However, just as very few people become the boss, set records, or become professional athletes, very few people make the necessary sacrifices and do what it takes to live Powerful and Effective Lives. The difference between work, sports, and making the impact that God intended for you to make is that making the impact God intended you to make isn’t about who you know or being in the right place at the right time. It’s about your Bible Study and prayer life. The differentiator between those who did great things in the Bible and those who didn’t is their prayer life: What they prayed for, the spirit in which they prayed, and the timing of turning to prayer instead of their own strength before they acted – then of course thanking God for answering their prayers afterwards.
Elijah prayed for it not to rain and it did not rain for 3.5 yrs (James 5:17). Hezekiah prayed for more life and was given 15 more years (2 Kings 19-20). Jesus Prayed for his heart to submit to God’s Will in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26). In Acts 4:23-31 the disciples gathered to thank God for the release of Peter and John and to ask that God enable them to speak God’s Word with great boldness and the Lord responded to their prayers shaking the place they prayed with a great earthquake and filled them with the spirit of Great boldness, just as they asked for! In my life I have had times of great prayer and times with little to no prayer. We all need reminding that prayer was of the highest priority to all of God’s people, throughout the entire Bible. Simply put: Prayer moves God. In turn, our sovereign God moves and impacts men by His Spirit, His angels, His Word and His providence. This is how ordinary men did extraordinary things and how the early church grew so dynamically! That begs the question: Do you believe that Prayer and Righteousness make a difference in the impact and outcome of your life?

Jesus fought through His challenges in Prayer

Jesus fought through His challenges in Prayer

The book of Acts chronicles the early church from the ascension of Christ in Acts 1 in approximately 30 AD to Paul’s imprisonment in Acts 28 around 60 AD and sets the example and model for God’s 21st Century church. One of the letters Paul writes during this imprisonment was to the Colossian Church. He wrote, “We always thank God when we pray for you… [for] all over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it.” Clearly in the mind of Paul, prayer propelled and then sustained the evangelization of the world in the first century. So DC Church, let us continue to fall on our knees, calling on the same Spirit to empower us to make the impact that God intended for us and to fill us with His spirit to boldly preach Christ in all nations. Powerful and Effective Prayers produce Powerful and Effective Lives!
