Prayer puts the Power in our Purpose!” The DMV International Christian Church (DC, Maryland, Virginia – Including Baltimore) is a member of the family of churches established in 2006, called the SoldOut Movement. We believe that God’s church is to be “the light of the world,” thus changing the world one person at a time! Our movement’s motivating vision is the evangelization of the nations in this generation. To this end, we are praying “that all men be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.”
As a fellowship, we are striving to “love the Lord [our] God with all [our] heart and with all [our] soul and with all [our] mind and with all [our] strength,” as well as “to love [our] neighbor as [ourselves].” Therefore, our fellowship has embraced the Crown of Thorns Project. This mission effort centers around Jesus’ command to the first century church in Acts 1:8, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Now, in the twenty-first century, we have adapted this same vision and this is what we call the Crown of Thorns Project. For us, “Jerusalem” is Los Angeles; “all Judea and Samaria” is the United States; and “the ends of the earth” are the ends of the earth!
In 2009, after much prayer, we selected 12 of the most influential cities of the world in which to plant churches from Los Angeles: Dubai, Chennai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, London, Manila, Moscow, Mexico City, Paris, Santiago, Sao Paulo and Sydney. From these 12 “Crown of Thorns” Churches, the capital cities of the surrounding nations will be planted. Then, from the capital cities of each nation, the entire nation will be evangelized! In 2017, we developed Operation Eagle, which is a 6-year plan to have a church in every state within the United States. In the first 3 years, we now have churches in 41 states – with 9 to go!
In accomplishing this through God’s power, we will be able to sing and say, “The world was evangelized in our day!” Presently, the Spirit has planted discipling ministries from Los Angeles into London, Santiago and last summer in Sao Paulo. This summer, Lord willing, new congregations of only sold-out disciples will be planted in Mexico City and in Paris!
The Spirit is also expanding our fellowship within the United States. At this time, there are dynamic churches in nearly every capital city in the US! The DMV Church has already planted Delaware and Baltimore as a Region of the DMV. God-willing, in June of this year, we are planting Columbia, South Carolina with Dylan and Jazmin Harding, then Morgantown and West Virgina in the Summer of 2024. We also get the honor of planting the final Operation Eagle Church with the planting of Raleigh, North Carolina in late 2024!
It is our prayer that you will either begin to seek after a relationship with God, or that you will be enriched by drawing closer to God. Then, our hope is that you will join us in praying and laboring for all 195 nations of the world to have “the abundant life” found only in Christ! (John 10:10) And to God be the glory!
